What Is Meditation ?

Meditation is a way for you to replenish yourself and look inwardly to gain insight into ways to improve yourself and your life.

In today’s busy world, we are so busy rushing around with work and trying to make headway, that we rarely give time to ourselves to recover.

One of the best ways to remain calm and level-headed in this buzz of daily life is through meditation.

Meditation is the form of relaxation that allows your mind to calm down. When your mind calms down. It gives you an inner peace and relaxes your emotions and allows you to cope with anything that comes your way.

It allows you to think clearly about daily life and make decisions from a stable point of view. Making decisions when you are angry or under pressure doesn’t allow you to think clearly about all the aspects and the impacts of that decision.

Often, after making the decision, we regret the choice we have made and this results in bad feelings that add to the emotional stress in our bodies.

Through meditation and calming the mind, you can approach any decision or problem with a clear head and make the best decision for you and those around you.

Meditation also allows you to gain a new understanding about yourself. Over time, you will find that meditation becomes part of your daily routine. It will allow you to find out how to cope and avoid stress in a more easy and natural way.

You will start to feel happier, healthier and start to look after your body to protect the vehicle your soul travels in.

How to Meditate

Sit comfortably in a chair that has a straight back. You could invest in a chair used just for meditations.

Sit In a Comfortable Chair

  • Close your eyes.
  • Breathe in deeply and out deeply.
  • Relax your muscles in your calves by tightening them and releasing them.
  • Breathe in deeply and out deeply.
  • Relax your muscles in your thighs by tightening them and releasing them.
  • Breathe in deeply and out deeply.
  • Relax your muscles in your arms by tightening them and releasing them.
  • Breathe in deeply and out deeply.
  • Relax your muscles in your shoulders by tightening them and releasing them.
  • Breathe in deeply and out deeply.
  • Relax your muscles in your hands by tightening them and releasing them.
  • Make no effort to control your breath just breath in and out naturally.
  • Focus your attention on the breath and on how the body moves with each inhalation and exhalation.
  • Feel your belly move when the air comes in and goes out.
  • Feel your lungs filling with air as it comes in and goes out.
  • If your mind wanders, then just focus on your breath again

Sit for a few minutes and increase it each day. You could also use a guided meditation to help you learn to meditate.

How Long to Meditate For?

People meditate for different lengths of time, when you first start, you could meditate for 5 minutes and then as you progress you can meditate for longer.

The important thing to note is, meditate for if you feel comfortable doing it. When you feel, you have had enough, you can stop the meditation and carry on with your day.

The more you meditate the quicker the mind clears itself and your concentration improves allowing you to focus on longer meditations.

If you meditate on a regular basis your mind will become more relaxed allowing you to experience a deeper meditation.

Benefits of Meditation

The benefits of this are tremendous, you will experience a deep sense of inner peace and more energy in your daily life. Life’s decision and experiences will not seem so hard anymore.

Your emotions will be stable allowing you to see situations clearly for what they are. You won’t spend so much time on Facebook wishing you could have a better life, through meditation you will feel content with what you have and a clear insight on where you want to go.

Would it not be wonderful to be able to approach life in this way, to be able to go into any situation with a clear mind? People will see the difference in you and they will want to know the secret to why you are always so calm.

Meditate with Your Family

I have taught my family about meditation and we all meditate together and it’s lovely to see how they have found a calmness within themselves.

They have become more patient, tolerant of other people and talk openly about their experiences which allow us as a family to get closer together.

Meditation for Children

This works with children, if you are level headed and emotionally calm it helps you to love them and understand that they are trying to find their way in the world too. Working together it creates a peaceful house where families thrive.

Children who meditate rebalance themselves and allows them to start life from an emotionally calm perspective.

Meditation can Help with Stress Management

Meditation isn’t the only solution but once you have a stable form of mind you can move forward with life on a more positive stream.

Meditation can also be used for different purposes like stress management, It can help with sleeping, to stop smoking, it can help with calming the nerves before a speech or exam.

It can benefit inner healing helping the body when working with traditional medicines to get better. The list is endless. You can use meditation for so many purposes to benefit you.

  1. What a wonderful resource! Thank you for sharing this post–I’m glad to see people writing on this special and important topic. I use meditation as part of my Creative Intention System along with visualization and manifestation journaling to assist the manifestation process.
    I agree 100% that meditation helps build a positive mindset, which is so crucial to deliberate creation and Law of Attraction work in general.
